Well, it's official. The strike is over! And just in time. The drought of 30 Rock, House, and Gossip Girl (not to mention 24) was just about to cause my brain to explode. Thankfully, I have a glorious roster of reality TV to pass the time. I'm thrilled to be able to go back to work, but I will say, not everything about the past three-and-a-half months was bad. Here's what I'm going to miss about my first strike experience:
- Being able to complain about not having a paycheck.
- Being able to say, "Well, it IS strike time!" at any given moment when conversation seems to be winding down.
- Being activisty.
- Watching the Food Network religiously AND having a good excuse for it (Well, it IS strike time!).
- The increased status updates on Facebook.
- Having time to go to neighborhood planning meetings and then complaining about them.
- Hating on The Man.
- Having long, romantic conversations with anonymous telemarketers.
- Experimenting with strange concoctions in the kitchen.
- Watching my bank account dwindle. Oh wait, no. That was bad.
- Growing out my strike hair (which will continue to go uncut until I receive my next paycheck).
- The occasional week-long bouts of facial hair that never quite grows in
- Crying myself to sleep every night.
- Garnering people's sympathy by lying about crying myself to sleep every night.
- Being a slob.
- Blogging about minutiae and not feeling guilty about it.

Perfect! Just what I was waiting for from you. Seriously, are you drunk?
I'm glad the strike is over. However I will miss you blogging about minutia like cadbury eggs, kitchen experiments, and other fun things to pass the time. Paycheck are nice but please don't forget us folks who anxiously come to your site daily for a little bit of b side magic.
Congratulations!
Now, go write us a screenplay.
I'm so glad its over. I need my 30 Rock!!
Congrat's, and get to work. :)
Hooray!
Now get back to work, ya slacker!
I also say keep the strike hair, it looks good long.
I think that the first things you should buy with your post-strike paycheck are sourdough bread and some fresh basil for your next choc. chip/brie/basil panini, and a case of Cadbury eggs.
Hallelujiah for the strike ending in time for the Oscars to go on as normal!
Now you can complain about job shit. Yea.
