What can I say about James from Big Brother that hasn't already been articulated two days ago? I guess a lot. After tonight's veto ceremony episode, his hypocrisy and sanctimoniousness continued to frustrate me to no end. For a guy who talks about keeping his word, he sure knows how to be self-serving.
First, let's get some things out of the way. As much as I dislike James, it was in his best interest to nominate Matt. The Boston buffoon is a tough competitor and a definite schemer, and while I personally am rooting for Matty (after Sheila, natch), there's no denying that he's a major threat to many people. (Side note: Matt should never have preened around after James was placed on the block last week. It just stoked his rivals' anger).
Furthermore, I have to admit that lying about voting James out of the house was nothing short of dumb. The truth would inevitably come out, and Matt didn't have as much to gain with the lie as he did with honesty, especially since James had extended some sort of protection.
That being said, my problems with James don't stem from the actual nominations themselves but rather from the reasoning behind them. Again, he went on and on about being lied to backdoored and how his word meant something, but then he up and nominated Matt! It's fine to put him on the block, but breaking your word after all that clucking just makes you kind of... um... AWFUL.
Even worse, James based his actions on the fact that Sharon merely surmised that Matt had been lying about the vote. His actions weren't based on reasoning but speculation. That Sharon wound up being right was coincidental. Again, not a big deal with other players, but in the context of James and his emphasis on honor and dignity, you'd think he'd be a bit more thorough than relying on gossip.
Ultimately though, James decided that in lieu of Matt's duplicity, the deal to keep him safe was now off. This was oddly reminiscent of a week prior when Ryan became suspicious of James and nominated him. When that happened, James spent the next several days rightfully bitching about being stabbed in the back. And yet, James himself had no problem doing the exact same thing to Matt. Whether Matt deserved it is really a moot point. The point is that James loses the right to talk about "dignity" and his "word" when he's just as guilty of shadiness. Sure, it's sweet revenge, but as the old adage says, two wrongs don't make a right.
What's even worse though is that during the veto ceremony, James couldn't even cop up to his motives (at least as far as we could see). James didn't tell Matt that he was on the block because he continued to lie even after taking a pledge of honesty. No, James went on a whole stupid thing about how it was obvious that Matt and Natalie were still a couple and therefore needed to be broken up. In a way, that explanation is even worse than the truth because then, for all anyone knows, all the blame falls squarely on James. The deal didn't go sour because of Matt. The deal went sour because James decided to go back on his word.
Nevertheless, the latter point is not a major one. What's important to note is that James is full of it, and seriously, he has to stop reveling in his Big Brother resurrection. The answer is no, James, you're not the first player to be voted back into the house and then cause a reign of terror. It's called season 3, Amy Crews. NOW SHUT UP.

Thank you. I believe I hate James almost as much as you do. There's nothing more obnoxious than hypocritical, self-righteous Big Brother contestants.
As for pointing out that Matt and Natalie are a couple that need to be broken up - what about you and your little girlfriend, James?
I just hope that Sheila doesn't defect to James's side out of gratitude. They need to get this moron out of the house next week.
I think T-Bag is dead right that James bought Sheila's gratitude, especially since she was so upset by the "betrayals" of Adam and Chelsea, who said that deciding who to vote out would be a hard decision.
I'm with B-Side on the James issue but I am secretly rooting for that big goofy idiot Adam just because he cracks me up. He is such a dummy and so oblivious to that fact he reminds me of Jen.
I don't see how lying is so bad. Plus, I think there's a difference between lying and changing your mind. I don't have a problem with Ryan telling James he was safe, then later reconsidering and deciding to put James up. Here, it took a while but Ryan finally realized that James and his crew (Josh, Chelsea, Sharon) were trying to manipulate and weaken him by dictating to him who to send home and weeding out his sort-of-ally. He wanted to break up that group, a smart move. He decided against Josh because of their agreement. James was the only alternative. I though it was a good move. In fact, if it were not for the unspeakable feminine hygiene incident, I would be squarely on Team Ryan.

I am not sure how to say this tactfully. I will just say that on the live feeds (I have heard but thank got didn't see this), Ryan and Jen had sex, which required the removal of a certain item, and when they were done RYAN reinserted the same. Then sniffed his fingers.

I do not understand the James-hate. And especially since you mentioned that you rooting for Matt. I guess I am not watching the same BB9 as you. "hypocrisy and sanctimoniousness" -- You have just described 99% of all bb hg's - Matt included. His use, abuse and then bragging about same said behavior is about as hypocritial and sanctimonious as you can get. And let's talk about his all strut and no stuff. He bails on every competition! He whines about how "that game was designed for women" or "my back hurts" or "I lost my balance." Meh. Josh called him out on the POV comp when he said that Matt was a roofer with no balance?!? HA.
And Shelia - the one who constantally plays the poor me single Mom card and whines about how "no one has my back" and "I am all alone" and whaaaaaaa. But she bragged about how she was the Puppet Master in flipping the house on James. She went around and made sure Matt knew it was her and to kiss her ass. Hypocrisy? Sanctimony? The bitch hits them both!
I am not a James fan. In fact I am not a fan of any one of them but I don't think that James' behavior is any different than Matt's.
Now - if we are talking puke city = I gave you Josh.

I will give you that -- Josh really is the worst of them all. Matt though, he just doesn't annoy me. Given that there's a certain degree of hypocrisy and sanctimoniousness with all the players, I just find James's to be particularly annoying. I think it's because he genuine looks down on his fellow house guests or somehow thinks he's exempt from the things he accuses others of. Matt is cocky and arrogant, but I don't know. He's cocky and arrogant in a fun way! I like his messed up relationship with Natalie. He's a pig, but a nice pig. He doesn't have deep emotional issues like Josh or any self-delusions (or at least, to the same degree) as James.
As for Sheila, she's crazy, and that's why I love her. Every time she says "Yew know wwuuttt," I crack up. Natalie's impression of her was actually pretty good.
I can't STAND James!
However, I have a new hatred for someone on the show...Josh. I read the live-feeds, and that guy is AWFUL! He truly reminds me of Evel Dick...attacking women and leaving men alone. Of course, Allison Grodner won't show much of the stuff he does...sigh.
Strangely, I am rooting for Dimwit Natalie. She is almost a cartoon character of a desperate female (sad!)
Although if she ever won this thing, some man would come along and take horrible advantage of her for the money....and she would welcome it.
I really don't like this season's people...I miss Jen!

HB, thanks for reminding me of Joshuah's funny line that Matt is a roofer with no balance. That had me roaring with laughter, then later I couldn't remember what funny thing he said. Maybe a fall from a roof is what made Matt's eyes so wonky.
The nail in the coffin for me with James, other than the porn and the thoughts of what diseases he's passing on to Chelsea, was an interview he did with Julie earlier in the season when he talked about how the other people in the house had no values and they were just playing for money. According to James, he was playing to spread happiness or unicorns and rainbows or something like that. That is where his hypocrisy is greater, because he ridiculed the morality of everyone else while he was doing nothing to promote his own professed values. The other players seem to act high-minded in the house, but reveal their scheming in the diary room, so that we can see it is game play. James' interview was one on one with Julie, and he still maintained that he was morally superior because he wasn't in it for the money. He does porn for money but doing BB for money is beneath him???
Matt said (repeatedly) "I respect women." And then acted in just the opposite manner. (sticking his tongue down Sharon and Chels throats; using Natalie for his own satisfaction and then treating her like dirt. Bashing Allison/Amanda and Shelia in various conversations using very un-respectful language)
So if hypocrisy is truly what you hate -- you must hate Matt as well. To me - same/same.
