Well, that was unsettling. It’s 2:15 AM, and I just heard a loud, echoey explosion outside my window. It sounded like it was about a mile away. It was very disconcerting. Plus, I was playing a game of Scramble on Facebook when it happened. Needless to say, I became very distracted. My score was undoubtedly affected.
Now I hear people’s voices down on the street below. I can’t tell if they’re talking about the random boom or if they’re just drunk. Oddly enough, I have not heard any sirens. Is it possible that I’m just going crazy?

I am pretty certain that the Department of Homeland Security lists “blog about it” as the 1st action to take during a suspected terrorist attack, “take cover” and “secure entrances” being 2nd and 3rd.
There are times I have these same kind moments….but mine have to do with earthquakes. I am SURE I feel one but no one else has. Then when I go to the USGS site, they have record of one either.
I’m sure everyone else is wrong though…after the Loma Prieta, I know an earthquake when I feel one.
I had a similar experience happen to me the other day. I was out at the barn brushing my horse and all of a sudden there was a loud BOOM! I wasn’t the only one who heard it because my horse jumped sideways at the boom. But I asked another guy out there if he heard that and he said “What boom?” So then I thought am I going crazy? Is my horse going crazy too? Then 4 air force jets flew over head followed by 4 more and then another 4. They had to have had something to do with the sonic boom sound I heard…..I hope!

This morning I heard a loud squawk outside of my front door. I opened it to find two large geese. I never knew geese were so tall!
I know it’s not the same, but I was startled nonetheless.:)
last month I heard (and saw) quite a few loud explosions when MY CAR CAUGHT ON FIRE! Arsonists suck.
