David Archuleta has a new single out called “Crush,” and yesterday, he dropped by New York’s Z100 morning show to premiere it. First thoughts: not as bland as I thought it would be. In fact, it’s solidly nice. Is it great? No. It’s still kind of generic, and if anything, it sounds like some sort of rejected JoJo tune (perhaps a less catchy cousin of “Too Little, Too Late”). But it’s seriously much better than I thought it would be — and this is coming from me, a self-professed Archuleta hater. Way to go, Archie! Now get back into your cage before Daddy beats you again.

Maybe he’s singing about Crush the American Gladiator… I’d write a song about her, she’s fierce.
My speakers no longer work on my laptop (hurry up revised MacBookPro!) so I can’t listen…but I imagine this will be the first song to have a laugh-track in the background of him giggling.
I think the pre-teen girls are going to love it.
David has delivered an amazing first single to his fans, and the public. It is rhythmic, David’s superior vocals soar and are identifiable throughout, has a catchy beat.. Hey-> I watched lotsa American Bandstand back in the day :0
His older fans like me find themselves humming along unconsciously, and the verses transport the listener back to those bygone days of school girl and schoolboy CRUSHES… It has an appeal across a very broad spectrum of listeners, and should effectively silence the detractors and critics who didn’t believe he had mainstream appeal. CRUSH is the catapult for David to continue his growth and evolution as an artist – I ANTICIPATE MANY MANY YEARS OF OUTSTANDING MUSIC FROM HIM.
you guys rock!
