Time To Meet Peggy's Family!

Before everyone goes off for a weekend of unbridled hedonism, remember that on Sunday, we have a new episode of Mad Men. To whet your appetite, here’s a sampling of what to expect, according to a press release:
“Paul hosts a party at his apartment and introduces someone special to his Sterling Cooper colleagues. Peggy visits her family for dinner. Despite a conflict of interest, the Sterling Cooper agency aggressively pursues an airline account and Duck attempts to appeal to the client using an unorthodox approach.”
Peggs has a family?? Surely this meal will certainly go better than her last social dining experience — unless, of course, one of her family members reveals that he’s a truck driver. Then it’s AWN!
Tune in to AMC this Sunday at 10 PM EST.

I bet Peggy’s family is weird, weird, weird, weird, weird.
I am picturing something straight out of “Creep Show” or “Tales from the Darkside”

I’m not sure I like this new Don Draper. I can’t believe I liked him better as a womanizing cad.
Peg’s family going to church in the end reminded me so much of my youth. Kneeling at the altar with that doiley thing on my head.
Campbell’s storyline thru me, I wasn’t expecting that.

So, maybe I’m slow, but I was a little confused about the kids at Peggy’s mom’s house. Is Pegs a breeding machine and those were ALL her kids? The mom seemed a little old to be having any babies of her own. Did anyone else get a clearer idea?

I’m assuming that the older child was Peggy’s sister’s kid since he called her “Aunt Peggy” when she looked in on the them before she left. It appears that her sister is also looking after little Pete Jr….or whatever they named him. I would have thought Peggy would just give the kid up for adoption and pretend it never happened but then we wouldn’t have much of a storyline. I have to say that I never liked the character of Pete Campbell much so I wasn’t prepared to feel sorry for him when his father died. Of course, his using that to his advantage during the meeting with the airline exec. later on is typical Pete Campbell.

Oh. See, I didn’t get that the other lady was Peggy’s sister because she looked so much older. I thought she was like a nosy aunt or something. I was returning work e-mail while watching, so I might have missed something there.
I thought the kid called her “Aunt Peggy” because they were doing that “you had a child out of wedlock so we will raise it as someone else in the family’s” thing. Very popular back in those days.
Thanks for clearing that up, murphena!

Who would have thought that Don & Betty’s daughter was a “Mixologist”?
