What happens when you're a cast member of Wicked trying to be a real rock 'n' roller? You get Adam Lambert, one of American Idol's aspiring stars for season eight. The guyliner enthusiast has already achieved frontrunner status due to his soaring vocals (he performs in next week's semifinals group), but he's also attracted some mild notoriety from people like me who feel he's a bit too theatrical, fabricated, and deliberately groomed to be taken seriously. Case in point: the video above. Check out Lambert as he dons an unsettlingly oil-chested, glam rocker persona — a look that can best be described as Michael Flatley meets Bowie. I'm not sure that's a good thing. It's all so over the top and ridiculous — it's every thing that Nick/Normund parodies. Adam can sing for sure, but I defy you to understand any of the words in this shrill, four-and-a-half minute what-the-fuck odyssey. Performance art? Possibly. Mock-worthy? Absolutely.

That first one (with the fire in it) was creepy. Yet, I watched the whole thing....I thought it might end in a huge orgy onstage.
Where to start with this fine example of glam-psychedelic-funk-rock?(it says this on his Bio on the Zodiac website - yes I checked because here in the midwest we dont have a festival that is centered entirely around the 12 zodiac signs - way to break the stereotype California...)
Besides the fact he is wearing more makeup than I OWN and besides the fact that he is completely gender ambiguous, he's pretty cute in a sissy, can I borrow your hairspray kind of way...but AI? His last collaboration was called "Digital Glitter" for gods sake...

Oops...double post. I had an "error" on my first, checked to see if it had posted (no), and reposted. Obviously, it was in cyber-space.
The second performance is almost more ridiculous. Where was that recorded? Gay club comes to mind after watching him swish his hips...He is pretty though.
At least it's way more entertaining than watching oil rig guy.

The guy is openly gay if you haven't figure that out. Oy. I'd vote for him over the overhyped my-wife-died-recently-how-long-can-I-use-this-for-sympathy-votes guy any day. I'd rather go to a concert and be entertained by Adam than to a snorefest that the other contestants will probably put out.
Ugh that was just terrible. I likes me some hair metal, but that was just wrong on so many levels.
I only watched the second video so far, but I like it! I thought that Von Scott was flamboyant, but this guy has him beat! I think I can see his peen in that video.
