I don’t mind when people are critical of my blog. Heck, my friends pester me about changes I should make all the time. And I understand that you can’t please everyone all the time. That being said, I do have a breaking point. This just arrived from a reader who seems a bit displeased with things around here of late:
This recap sucks!!! I have been a fan of your recaps since the Tvgasm days when Laguna Beach Season 1 started. I love this franchise and I like reading your recaps after I watch the episodes. I think this season of The Hills is going to be good like Season 2. Lately it seems like you don’t enjoy The Hills as much as you used to. You stopped your recaps during the end of Season 2 and the beginning of 3 which I understood between leaving tvgasm and setting up this blog and I still followed. You didn’t recap Newport Harbor, Bromance or the City (fyi these little photocaps or screencaps don’t count as a recaps). You have many people who still like your recaps of Laguna and The Hills from back in the day. Maybe if you would recap like that you would have hundreds or a thousand comments like you used to!!! You didn’t even recap The Hills Season 4 Finale!!! Don’t think I forgot about that!!! All I’m saying is step it up and bring your A GAME or forget it!!! Don’t start something so good and don’t finish it!!! I truly hope this is the last Hills re”crap” like this!!! I just expected more from you!!!

Hee hee. Really, though, I can’t believe this lady resisted the urge to make some kind of “A-Game” / “B-Side” pun. Possibly one involving multiple exclamation points, which are always an effective rhetorical technique. And for what it’s worth, I think the photocaps are excellent.

Been stalking the blog since I found you S9 of BB (I liked it so much I spent about 3 weeks reading the archives!) and this post finally sent me to the brink enough to actually make a comment for once. Your blog is awesome. I dont even watch the Hills and yet read each and every post because it’s funny here (posts and commenters alike!). I see she didnt leave an example of HER recap to show you how it’s done. Yew don’t owe her a big ol’ SCREW YOU, but yew kinda dew.

This person clearly LOVES you (I say that with the whiny “loooooves” you voice). She (I assume it’s a she) is like a not-so-good parent who instead of saying “Hey buddy, maybe you could have put more effort into that book report”, says, “Yeah. You could have aced that test but instead you were AWFUL.”
She WANTS you to succeed. And I gotta say, I can agree you don’t love the Hills as much as you used to – but that’s okay, because most of us have unconditional love for ya. I didn’t realize that this blog was only for recaps…
I respect that everyone is entitled to their opinion, but this is like turning on the radio then calling the station to complain because they played a song you don’t like. Or getting a free square of pizza from the sample lady at the grocery store than spitting it back in her face. I hope you filed the complaint in the appropriate receptacle.
All I can say is I’m so glad I was bored at work this week & remembered the old ‘gasm & found this site-so far I’m thru May of 2008 in the archives. (I was a different name over there that I always thought was kind of eh, so I picked a new one here-kind of like witness protection.)
Tomorrow I board a plane (weather permitting)heading for Florida, & the flogging spirit will be with me-I’ll have that running commentary in my head, ala Scrubs, wishing I had B-Side seated next to me, typing furiously into his laptop. And I would be honored to to be the next Candy Cane Blazer!

You know when they tell you to ignore children when they misbehave or use curse words because it will only encourage them? That’s how I feel about The Hills. I hate that stupid fake show and the fact that people support it. And it makes the rest of have to deal with losers like Lauren Conrad, Whitney, Audrina, Heidi, and Spencer in magazines and on Access Hollywood, Extra, TMZ, etc. I hate them & I hate the fact that I know their names.
