DEAD CELEBRITIES: Bea Arthur Edition

By B-Side in

It's been a tough yaer for the Golden Girls. First we lost Estelle Getty last July, and now today, the other half of the Petrillo clan, Dorothy Zbornack, has passed away as well. Yes, TV legend Bea Arthur died today at 86 after a battle with cancer. Sadness all around. Hopefully she'll be able to hang out with "Ma" on the big lanai in the sky.

Damn. I hate to admit it, but I used to watch Golden Girls when I had to stay home sick. Too bad.

All my gay friends are going to be in mourning. I think Dorothy might have been my favorite. :(

I remember watching "Maude" on TV Land in the summer of 1999. I loved how 70s it was!!!

Dorothy used to wear oversized waistcoats and I remember having my mother make me some, even though she was a golden girl and I was a teen! Hmm. That's sad.

I'm a die hard Golden Girls fan & Dorothy/Bea was my ABSOLUTE favorite. I'm so sad that she's gone :-(

Thank goodness for Bea Arthur and the Golden Girls, if not for shows like that and the People's Court, etc. my summer's as a junior higher would have been even more dismally dull

I watched the Golden Girls on daytime television all time about 15 years ago... Bea Arthur was one of the funnier members of that cast
