Pardon The Interruption

Apologies for being inattentive to this blog the past day and a half. I’ve been traveling and am currently in the sunny climes of Portland, Oregon. I realize there is much to discuss in the TV world, what with Big Brother and Top Chef Masters and the Emmy nominations. I will try to get some content up later today or this evening. Feel free to engage in pleasantries and general banter either here or in the forums — the latter of which is proving to be quite lively and robust.
In the meantime, enjoy this video of ducks trying to climb an escalator!

Be sure to stop by Voodoo Donuts while you are here in PDX and try the bacon/maple roll – looks gross but is super yummy! And don’t bother trying Korean food here – you will only be disappointed.

I live in Portland!! What are you doing here? My BF is Korean (he happened upon me while I was reading one of your Korean food posts and was highly amused) and he says there is a new restaurant in the close suburb of Beaverton that he hasn’t been to yet, but all the Koreans are talking about. I’ll find out what/where it is exactly if you are interested. The other place you MUST try is Pok Pok on SE Division St. Really good Thai BBQ, very spicy. I would be happy to offer any other suggestions while you are here…..

Ooh are your hanging out with Dave Chappelle?
ekc – I recall Voodoo Donuts from an episode of Amazing Race. I hope you weren’t the nasty bystander who couldn’t be bothered to give the teams directions!

  4. SpecialK says:

Hold on there Mr. B-Side! You didn’t drive to Portland, right? Where’s the flog?
B, I love when you flog. (That really sounds weird.) Maybe you will flog on your return; a girl can dream.

  5. Erika says:

Yay Portland! I agree Voodoo donuts is a Must! even if you don’t like donuts! Fire on the Mountain is another great place to eat. Portland is Foodie Heaven.

  6. The Wonk says:

Red Lobster, B-Side, really? I hope it was a business thingy decision….

  7. B-Side says:

The Wonk — I’m staying in Beaverton! And we almost went to Pok Pok yesterday. As for Red Lobster, don’t hate. Celebrate. We don’t really have those in LA.

So, wasn’t really sure where to put this where it would get your attention, but have you seen yet that you got a shoutout from The Chenbot herself on EW.com???

    Very cool….

Looks to me like those ducks are deathly afraid of that escalator, like it was torturous. Not very pleasant viewing for an animal-lover like myself.

  10. chick110 says:

OMR, a shout out from the ChenBot!! What next??? Appearances on the Real Housewives shows??

  11. LoLo says:

WOW! I just choked on my breakfast when I saw that the Chenbot name dropped you over on EW.com! Congrats!!!

  12. derder says:

WOW! That Chenbot shout out is impressive!
But Ben, please don’t post anymore movies of animals suffering (the ducks, the squirrel, etc.)- it isn’t funny. Actually they make me sick to my stomach.
    Thanks.

  13. a bristling son says:

Seriously, B. You leave town and the Chenbot name drops you.
We need a post linking to all your Chenbot love. The infamous video included!

  14. honeybunny says:

I was b-side myself when I saw the Chenbot cheeky comment.
Congrats on climbing up another rung on the ladder.

  16. ekc says:

Of all the fantastic places in eat in Portland and you go to Red Lobster!?!?! Well, at least you go to Voodoo!
And the nasty bystander for the Amazing Race must have been from out of town – Oregonians are always happy to give directions, or at least the native Oregonians. :-)
