Hey everyone! Lisa Timmons and I are giving away a free $15 iTunes gift credit plus a free Sade song download of your choice! That’s right — we’re giving away iTunes swag! All you have to do is come up with the most amazing .com domain name. For instance, something like sadeandnight.com would play very well with us. I would also welcome something along the lines of four-thor-and-seven-years-ago.com.
2) Create a domain (must end with .com) and use the promo code “banter” on checkout. You will only be charged $1.99, which is about as much as you’d pay for a soda or a taco (or both, depending on the establishment).
3) Once you’ve signed up your domain, post it on our Facebook page, specifically on the comments section of this post.
That’s it! We’ll accept new entries until noon on September 18th.
Last month, I implored readers to submit haikus about the Reelz channel miniseries The Kennedys. Winners would receive a free copy of the entire production. Well, I haven’t forgotten about the contest. In fact, I’ve chosen a winner.
And the winning haiku is…
There should be a drink
Inspired by the Kennedys
Is that in bad taste?
Great work Vanessa! Email me at bsideblog at gmail dotcom, and I’ll hook you up with your copy of The Kennedys!
Earlier this Spring, Reelz Channel aired the controversial miniseries The Kennedys, and in case you missed it, fear not! You can have your very own free copy. (And if you don’t win the contest, you can buy the miniseries here — insert me doing a Vanna White presentation with my hand).
All you have to do is write a haiku about the Kennedys in the comments section. How easy is that? VERY. I’ll judge the winners. You have until Friday at noon.
About two weeks ago, I implored people to submit their favorite musical covers from YouTube in order to win Glee Season 2: Volume 1 on DVD. There have been some great responses, and after weeding through the videos (with an assist from my friend Meeshie), we finally have a winner.
How much do we love Kelly Cutrone? Let me count the ways…
Unfortunately for us, it doesn’t appear as though Kell on Earth or The City are returning to the air anytime soon (booo!); so while we wait for another reality show to display Kelly in all her splendor, we have her book to play around with. In fact, if you’d like your own free copy of If You Have To Cry, Go Outside, by all means head over to my friends at Socialite Life who are holding their very own contest. Jump on this opportunity now before IT’S FUCKING FASHION WEEK!
Glee: Season 2, Volume 1 hits stores tomorrow, but rather than fork over your hard-earned money on the DVD set, I’m offering you the chance to win a copy for free! That’s right: Fox was kind enough to send me the DVDs (they’re in my hands at this very MOMENT), and now I want to pass it along to one of you Gleeks out there in cyberspace.
The rules of the game are simple. In the spirit of Glee and singing, submit your favorite YouTube cover of any song. It should be singing — not some guitar solo. Post a link to the vid (as well as the original song) in the comments. I’ll check out the submissions, and in the end, my favorite will win the DVDs!
The contest closes Friday at 3 PM PST. Get crackin’! And be sure to retweet this on Twitter! (You can follow me at http://twitter.com/bsideblog)
Due to spam filters, this blog software may think your submissions are spam. Don’t worry if your comment doesn’t immediately appear…
I’ve received a lot of cool swag from this blog, but the gift basket that Cool Whip sent me this week is easily one of the best things to show up at my doorstep. It came loaded with all sorts of baking goodies, and here’s the best part: they want to give an identical basket to one of my readers too. Yes, people, this is my Oprah moment. “You get a basket and you get a basket and you get a basket!!!” Except, um, they’re only giving away one; so it’s more like “YOU GET A BASKET AND YOU GET NOTHING AND YOU GET NOTHING AND YOU GET NOTHING!”
Anyway, if you want to win your very own basket of fun, check out the details after the jump…
Everyone likes free stuff, and I’ve got a nifty contest for y’all today. Lee Premium Select jeans is making five pairs available for me to give away on my site. It’s all to promote the partnership of Mike Rowe (Dirty Jobs) and Lee as well as t he launch of their new site, Shopphobia.com where “men can learn to shop without fear.”
The people at Lee were kind enough to send me over a free pair to review, but sadly, they didn’t fit, which I suppose is a rather damning critique of my eating habits of late. Either that or Lee Jeans run small (my Gap jeans in the exact same size fit like a charm). Who knows. At least the jeans look nice.
Anyway, the rules to win your own pair of jeans are very simple: just get five people to follow me on Twitter, and you’ll win a pair of jeans! Make sure your friends Tweet at me with your Twitter name and the hashtag “#bsideblogJeans.”
Just under two weeks ago, I announced a contest wherein I would give away a free supply of TrueLemon, TrueLime, or TrueOrange to the three best submitted margarita stories. The submissions have cooled off, and I’m happy to inform you that we have three winners!
In third place (TrueOrange), the winner goes to… jelliepair for a charming tale about making the perfect margarita. As for second and first place, well, they each have very lengthy stories to tell. Their award-winning sagas after the jump.
