BANTER BLENDER #99: Ray Rice, Taylor Swift, Joan Rivers, and ‘Utopia’

Writer Jessica Ogilvie (Playboy) returns to the Banter Blender podcast to discuss the latest events in a summer of craziness. We start with Ray Rice and the larger question of can bad behavior ever be forgiven? This leads to discussion of Chris Brown and Michael Vick before eventually landing on the most pressing debate of our time: Team Taylor vs. Team Katy.

Yes, the Taylor Swift / Katy Perry feud is addressed with the gravitas it deserves, and then it’s on to Fox’s new reality experiment, “Utopia.” Trash TV or a disturbing look at our society?

Finally, we close out the podcast with talk of Joan Rivers and her career. Along the way, there are plenty of asides about Starbucks, puss caterpillars, ISIS, and even Ferguson.

Tackling the tough topics as always!

Starbucks’ Secret Menu Revealed!

Just when you thought you knew your Starbucks inside and out, here comes a bombshell revelation: there’s a SECRET Starbucks menu. Dunh dunh DUNH. Much like the “secret menu” at In-N-Out, Starbucks has its own line of special coffee preparations, and now the Huffington Post has blown it wide open. Prepare yourself for the Green Eye, the Zebra Mocha, the Chocolate Dalmatian, and much, much more. Ladies and gentlemen, it is time to take the red pill and go down the caffeinated rabbit hole…

Ep. 10: Banter with Ben and Lisa

Surprise surprise! Lisa and I are already back with yet another podcast! This time we went a little crazy and went mobile with the show. We set up shop outside a nearby Starbucks and infused our normal banter with a healthy dose of people watching. Mixed with some coffee tasting and naughty jokes about pumpkin cake, this certainly proved to be one of our most bizarre podcasts yet. We don’t know how it will play to the masses, but I can assure you that at the very least, we certainly had a fantastic time. Let us know what you think!
